Under the patronage of Professor Wissam Salah Abdul-Hussein, President of Cordoba University, the university held a scientific symposium entitled “The Water Crisis in Iraq and Its Implications for the Iraqi Reality.” The symposium was delivered by Dr. Abdul-Azim Ismail, Dean of the College of Political Science.
The symposium addressed the major challenges facing Iraq in the field of water resources, the most prominent causes that have exacerbated the crisis, and its impact on the country’s economic, social, and political aspects. The lecturer also presented a set of visions and proposals that could contribute to developing scientific and practical solutions to the problem of water scarcity and achieving sustainable water resource management.
The symposium was attended by the esteemed university president, a number of faculty and administrative staff, and a group of employees. The symposium witnessed fruitful interactions and discussions that enriched the scientific session, affirming Cordoba University’s commitment to addressing vital national issues and supporting community awareness of them.
At the conclusion of the symposium, the University President expressed his thanks and appreciation to the lecturer and attendees for their active contributions, commending the efforts of the Deanship of the College of Political Science in organizing such academic activities that enhance the university’s standing and its role in serving national and societal issues.
