The College of Science Council at Cordoba University held its second session for the 2026–2027 academic year, chaired by the Dean of the College, Dr. Muslim Mohammed Musa, and attended by the Assistant Deans and Heads of the academic departments. The session focused on a number of academic and administrative matters related to the progress of work within the College. The Dean opened the session with welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of maintaining coordination among the academic departments and following up on their preparations for the new academic year. The Council also discussed the readiness of classrooms and scientific laboratories, as well as their equipment requirements, in order to provide an appropriate academic environment for students and contribute to improving the quality of the educational process. Dr. Muslim Mohammed Musa also emphasized the importance of enhancing faculty participation in scientific research and academic activities, encouraging initiatives that contribute to the development of scientific and educational performance, and strengthening cooperation among the College’s departments. The session also addressed several matters related to the organization of academic work and the needs of the departments, with an emphasis on integrating efforts to ensure the regularity of studies, in line with Cordoba University’s approach to developing its educational environment and supporting students and faculty members.

The President of Cordoba University, Prof. Dr. Wissam Salah Abdul-Hussein, honored his two assistants, the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khalid Shayaa Khairallah, and the Assistant President of the University for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Dr. Firas Kassoub Rashid, in recognition of their distinguished efforts and effective contributions to the development of university work and the enhancement of institutional performance. Prof. Dr. Khalid Shayaa Khairallah was honored in appreciation of his efforts in following up on the educational process, ensuring its regularity, and developing its mechanisms, in addition to his role in completing the requirements of digital transformation and developing the student registration system, thereby contributing to improving the efficiency of academicprocedures and keeping pace with modern developments in university education. Prof. Dr. Firas Kassoub Rashid was honored in recognition of his dedicated efforts in establishing academic departments for evening studies and following up on the completion of the necessary administrative procedures, supporting the expansion of the educational process and providing the institutional requirements in accordance with the University’s approved plans and directions. The College of Pharmacy at Cordoba University received a delegation from Fatima Al-Talqani Academy for Pharmaceutical Education during a visit aimed at exploring opportunities for joint cooperation and strengthening academic and scientific relations between the two sides. Under the patronage of the President of Cordoba University and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, the Department of Medical Physics / College of Science held a scientific seminar entitled: “Kidney Stone Fragmentation Using Extracorporeal Shock Waves (ESWL)” The seminar was held on Monday, October 5, 2026, and was delivered by Dr. Zuhair Hammadi Hussein. It addressed the operating principle of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, its mechanism of use, and its most important medical applications. The seminar comes as part of the scientific activities organized by the department with the aim of enhancing students’ scientific and practical knowledge and linking physical concepts with modern medical applications.

Under the patronage of the President of Cordoba University and the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, the College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the University Presidency, held a workshop entitled: “Explanation of Faculty and Staff Performance Evaluation Forms” The workshop was held on Monday, September 28, 2026, with the aim of clarifying the procedures and requirements of performance evaluation forms, enhancing faculty and staff understanding of evaluation criteria, and explaining the mechanism for documenting performance in accordance with the requirements of quality assurance and university performance. The workshop was delivered by: Assist. Lect. Hussein Ali Rahim Director of the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance. Assist. Lect. Maryam Mithaq Najm Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Unit at the College of Pharmacy. Assist. Lect. Maryam Thaer Najm Secretary of the College of Pharmacy Council. This workshop comes as part of the College of Pharmacy at Cordoba University’s efforts to promote a culture of quality and enhance the level of academic and administrative performance, in line with the requirements of continuous development and improvement within the educational institution.

Under the patronage of Cordoba University and the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Education, the College of Education at Cordoba University, in cooperation with the University of Al-Qadisiyah, held a workshop entitled “Implementing the Bologna Process in Iraqi Universities” on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the Continuing Education Hall. The workshop was delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Asaad Nasser Hussein from the College of Education at Cordoba University and Assist. Prof. Dr. Qusay Hatem Akkar from the College of Science at the University of Al-Qadisiyah. The workshop addressed the key concepts and mechanisms related to the implementation of the Bologna Process in Iraqi higher education institutions. The workshop was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khalid Shayaa Khairallah, who contributed to supporting the workshop activities. At the conclusion of the event, he honored the guest lecturer, Prof. Dr. Qusay Hatem Akkar, in recognition of his participation and scientific contribution to the workshop. Assist. Prof. Dr. Asaad Nasser Hussein also honored the guest lecturer, Prof. Dr. Qusay Hatem Akkar, by presenting him with a letter of thanks and appreciation in recognition of his efforts and scientific contribution to the workshop.
