The Women's Affairs Department at the University of Cordoba is holding a seminar on the social and legal frameworks related to domestic violence.

The Women's Affairs Division at the University of Cordoba Holds a Seminar on the Social and Legal Frameworks Related to Domestic Violence The Women's Affairs Division at the University of Cordoba, in cooperation with the Faculty of Political Science, held an awareness seminar entitled "Social Frameworks and Legal Systems Related to Domestic Violence." The seminar was presented by Dr. Abdul-Azim Ismail, a faculty member in the Faculty of Political Science, and was attended by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, deans, faculty members, and students. The seminar addressed the most prominent social and legal aspects related to the phenomenon of domestic violence and its effects on individuals and society. It also reviewed laws and legislation that contribute to reducing this phenomenon and promoting societal awareness of individual rights and the necessity of providing a safe and stable family environment. The seminar emphasized the importance of disseminating legal and social awareness among all segments of society and strengthening the role of academic institutions in addressing societal issues and raising awareness of the dangers of domestic violence and ways to prevent it.

The University of Cordoba organized a specialized lecture entitled “Mental Pollution: The Silent Danger on Campus.” The Continuing Education Department at the University of Cordoba, in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, held the lecture, which was attended by university officials, faculty members, and students. The lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Hassanein Abdul Wahid Ash’ila from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Qasim Green University, and Professor Ali Rasoul Jabbar from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Cordoba. They discussed the concept of mental pollution, its causes, and its negative effects on individuals and the university community, as well as ways to mitigate the intellectual and behavioral phenomena that affect the educational environment. The lecture saw active participation from the audience, who posed several questions and offered comments focusing on the importance of intellectual and cultural awareness and the role of educational institutions in building a conscious generation capable of confronting contemporary intellectual challenges. At the conclusion of the lecture, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Professor Dr. Hassanein Abdul Wahid Ash'ila in recognition of his scholarly efforts and valuable contribution to the success of this scientific event.

The President of Cordoba University Attends the Opening of a Table Tennis Development Course in Najaf At the official invitation of the General Directorate of School Sports at the Ministry of Education, Professor Dr. Wissam Salah Abdul Hussein, President of Cordoba University, attended the opening lectures of a table tennis development course held in Najaf Governorate, under the supervision of the School Sports Supervision Department. The course saw the participation of physical education teachers from Najaf Governorate, as part of a development program aimed at raising professional competence and enhancing coaching and refereeing skills in table tennis, thus contributing to the improvement of school sports. During his attendance, the University President emphasized Cordoba University's support for sports and educational activities and its commitment to strengthening cooperation with educational and sports institutions in various governorates, in order to serve students and develop the educational and athletic process. This participation comes within the framework of academic openness and joint cooperation between Cordoba University and educational and sports authorities, which enhances the exchange of expertise and supports development programs in the field of school sports.

The University of Cordoba hosts Professor Dr. Thamer Ahmed Hamdan for two lectures on therapeutic lasers and medical errors. Under the patronage of the President of the University of Cordoba, Professor Dr. Wissam Salah Abdul Hussein, the College of Health and Medical Technologies at the University of Cordoba, in cooperation with the Iraqi Laser Scientists Association, is holding two scientific lectures to be delivered by Professor Dr. Thamer Ahmed Hamdan, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon. - The first lecture: Low-Level Laser Therapy - The second lecture: Medical Errors The lectures will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in the university's conference hall.
