The University of Cordoba signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Iraqi Association of Laser Scientists, in the presence of the university president, Professor Wissam Salah Abdul-Hussein; the administrative assistant, Professor Firas Kasoub Rashid; the association’s president, Professor Ihsan Fathallah Rustum; and association member, Dr. Abdullah Shakara.

During the signing, an agreement was reached to hold the first international conference on laser applications in medicine and surgery, scheduled for October 23, 2025. This conference comes within the framework of strengthening scientific partnerships and developing research and development in modern medical technologies.
