Nidhal Khdhair Abbas EL- Abbadi

**Prof. Dr. Nidhal Abbas** is a Professor specializing in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and currently serves as the **Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Cordoba**. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Baghdad and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Al-Mustansiriyah University, where he ranked first in his college. He also earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the Informatics Institute for Postgraduate Studies. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Image Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Robotics. Prof. Dr. Abbas has extensive professional, administrative, and academic experience, having held several engineering and leadership positions before advancing through academic roles to serve as a college dean. He has also participated in numerous international academic and professional development programs, including the **Fulbright Program**, a postdoctoral visiting scholar program in the United States, as well as specialized programs in leadership, teaching methodologies, and professional development. His scholarly output includes **more than 150 scientific publications**, of which **84 are indexed in Scopus**, in addition to publications indexed in Clarivate and papers presented in international, regional, and local journals and conferences. He has authored **10 books** and has a **Scopus H-index of 14**. He has participated in more than **300 scientific conferences** in Iraq and abroad and has supervised numerous Master's and Ph.D. students at Iraqi and international universities. Throughout his academic career, Prof. Dr. Abbas has received numerous national and international awards and honors, including the **Science Day Shield from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research** on several occasions, recognition for scientists and innovators, and an award from the Ministry of Higher Education for his book *Insights into Scientific Research*. He has also received **more than 300 certificates of appreciation**, along with awards and honors from various universities and international institutions. Beyond his academic and research contributions, Prof. Dr. Abbas has contributed to establishing cooperation agreements and joint projects with international universities and institutions. He has designed and implemented more than **30 community-service projects**, particularly those supporting individuals with special needs, and has presented more than **40 studies addressing challenges within Iraqi society**. Among his notable initiatives is the development of the **Unified Student Identification Number Project for Iraqi Universities**.
