Cordoba University Holds First Aid Workshop to Develop Basic Skills for Students
The Continuing Education Department at Cordoba University, in collaboration with the College of Science/Department of Forensic Science, held a medical workshop entitled “First Aid” as part of its scientific activities aimed at disseminating health awareness and promoting community engagement among students.
The workshop was supervised by the Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Ali Mahdi Kadhim, and featured presentations by Dr. Basma Amal Mahmoud and Professor Muhannad Haider Abdul Nabi. They provided a comprehensive explanation of the basic principles of first aid and how to handle emergency situations before the arrival of specialized medical personnel.
The workshop also included a practical component focused on developing students' basic skills. This involved training them in drawing blood, inserting cannulas, measuring blood glucose levels, and measuring blood pressure, thus enhancing their practical competence and field readiness.
This event is part of a series of activities that Cordoba University is keen to organize, reflecting its commitment to practical training alongside academic development.
