Professor Dr. Nidal Khudhair Al-Abadi, Dean of the College of Engineering at Cordoba Private University, has published a new research paper in a prestigious international scientific journal indexed in Scopus and Clarivate and ranked in the second quartile (Q2). The paper is entitled:
“Hybrid PCA–LBP and Wavelet Scattering Framework for Texture Classification in Color Images.”
The study addresses Color Texture Classification, an important area in the field of computer vision with a wide range of applications, including medical imaging, remote sensing, industrial inspection, materials analysis, and other image-based analytical fields.
The research proposes a hybrid framework for color texture classification that integrates several image-processing, feature-extraction, and classification techniques, including Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Local Binary Patterns (LBP), Wavelet Scattering Transform (WST), and XGBoost. The proposed framework aims to effectively integrate color information with texture features while reducing feature dimensionality and computational complexity.
This publication reflects Cordoba Private University’s continued commitment to supporting scientific research, encouraging distinguished scholarly output, and strengthening the presence of its researchers in reputable international scientific journals. Such achievements demonstrate the advanced academic and research standards of the University and its faculty members.
