In a new scientific achievement for the University of Cordoba, Dr. Muslim Mohammed, Head of the Department of Anesthesia Techniques, published a scientific paper in the Egyptian Journal of Medical Microbiology, Volume 35, Issue 1, 2026. This journal is a reputable scientific publication indexed in the Scopus database. The paper is titled: “The Role of Herbal Extracts in Modulating Inflammatory Cytokines and Cancer Biomarkers.” The research explored the effects of several natural herbal extracts, including curcumin, black seed, and EGCG, on regulating inflammatory markers and biomarkers associated with cancerous tumors. It also highlighted their potential role as adjunctive therapies in improving treatment response and slowing disease progression in cancer patients. The study results showed a significant decrease in inflammation markers, along with an improvement in some clinical indicators, reinforcing the importance of using supportive natural compounds within modern treatment protocols.
