A Scientific Symposium at the University of Cordoba Highlights the Dangers of Antibiotic Misuse
The Continuing Education Department at the University of Cordoba, in collaboration with the College of Pharmacy, held a scientific symposium entitled “Antibiotic Misuse” in the conference hall. The symposium was attended by the university president and a select group of faculty members and students from the Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy.
The symposium, presented by Dr. Ahmed Wahab, a faculty member at the University of Cordoba, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Zuhair Al-Waili from the College of Medicine at Al-Ameed University, addressed the most prominent health risks resulting from the misuse of antibiotics and its impact on increasing bacterial resistance to drugs, posing a significant challenge to healthcare systems.
The symposium witnessed extensive interaction from the attendees, with numerous questions and comments enriching the scientific discussion. Participants emphasized the importance of raising health awareness among members of the community to reduce the indiscriminate use of these medications. At the conclusion of the seminar, the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Khalid Shayaa Khairallah, presented letters of thanks and appreciation to the seminar's lecturers. The university administration affirmed its commitment to holding such scientific events that contribute to promoting health awareness and supporting the academic journey.
